Important Update re Crudwell Neighbourhood Plan – 14th April 2026
We have been asked to extend our Regulation 14 consultation by Wiltshire Council. The consultation which commenced on the 1st of March will now end at 5pm on Monday the 25th of May. You will find the Neighbourhood Plan on the link below together with a questionnaire which you can complete online and the other associated Neighbourhood Plan documents.
It is essential that we complete the new Neighbourhood Plan to help avoid unwanted large speculative housing applications which is a real risk given Government new homes targets and a deficiency in the required numbers of new houses in Wiltshire. The Plan will help ensure that any housing development in Crudwell is at a scale, pace, design and affordability which is acceptable and sustainable.
Regulation 14 represents a crucial phase in the development of the new Crudwell Neighbourhood Plan. This public consultation provides an opportunity for Crudwell residents to share their views on the proposed Plan.
The Plan outlines two proposed housing allocations that have been thoughtfully chosen by the Steering Group to ensure that future developments are managed at an appropriate scale, with suitable design and affordability, while aligning with new Government targets. Without a Neighbourhood Plan in place, the community may be exposed to the risk of large-scale developments similar to those seen in neighbouring areas.
The Summary and Questionnaire will give you a quick overview and will capture your responses while you are advised to look at the full Neighbourhood Plan for the details.
Please take your time to review the new Neighbourhood Plan and submit your comments, the consultation will close on Monday the 25th of May. Your responses will all be scrutinised and taken account of in developing the final Neighbourhood Plan.
